Protection & monitoring
The register never sleeps. Neither do the people who scrape it.
Changing your address today does not remove it from documents already filed. If your home address has ever appeared on a Companies House filing it stays on the public record for anyone to download. We search your entire filing history, list every document that shows it, complete the SR01 applications and post them to the Registrar for you. Companies House charges £34 per document and we pass that on with nothing added; suppression takes at least 30 days.
Every week we check new incorporations and name changes at Companies House against your company name. If someone registers something close enough to confuse your customers you get an email the same day with the company number, who set it up and what you can do about it. Timing decides everything: a complaint that a name is too like yours has to reach Companies House within 12 months of that company being registered. Miss that window and your only route is the Company Names Tribunal, which charges £400 just to file.
Before you give a new customer credit or pay a large supplier invoice, we look them up for you. One page, plain English: how long they have really traded, whether accounts or the confirmation statement are overdue, whether directors keep coming and going, whether their registered address is a mailbox shared with hundreds of other companies, and anything else that would make a credit controller uneasy. Usually back within the hour in office hours.
Our Address Health Check is free and tells you how many companies share an address. This is the written report on any address you name: dissolution rate, how many companies there are in strike-off or liquidation right now, overdue filings, how fast new ones are appearing and how old they are – with the figures, the date and the source.
